01Introduction
These SDK Licence & Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern the use of the Polaris software development kit (“SDK”) and associated services (“Platform”).
By downloading, integrating, or using the SDK, you (“Customer”, “Developer”) agree to these Terms.
02Licence Grant
Polaris grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to:
- Integrate the SDK into your software products (“Products”)
- Use the SDK solely for the purpose of enabling licensing, validation, and related functionality
- Distribute the SDK only as embedded within your Products
03Restrictions
You must not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the SDK (except where legally permitted)
- Distribute the SDK on a standalone basis
- Use the SDK to build a competing product or service
- Interfere with or bypass licence validation or security mechanisms
- Expose API keys, tokens, or internal endpoints
04Distribution & Integration
You may distribute the SDK only:
- As an integrated component of your Product
- In a manner that does not expose Polaris intellectual property or internal logic
You are responsible for:
- Ensuring secure implementation
- Maintaining compatibility with supported SDK versions
05Platform Services
The SDK relies on Polaris-hosted services for:
- Licence issuance and validation
- Data processing and analytics
- Platform functionality
Polaris may:
- Update, modify, or deprecate services
- Introduce rate limits or usage controls
- Perform maintenance or downtime as required
06Data Collection & Usage
6.1 Data Collected
Use of the SDK may result in collection of:
- Licence events (issuance, activation, validation)
- Device and environment data (e.g. OS, device type)
- Usage signals (e.g. session activity, timestamps)
- Transaction and interaction data
6.2 Use of Data
Polaris may use this data to:
- Provide and operate the Platform
- Generate analytics and insights
- Improve system performance and security
- Detect fraud, abuse, or policy violations
- Produce aggregated and anonymised insights
6.3 Customer Responsibilities
You agree that:
- You are responsible for informing end users of data collection
- You will obtain any required consents under applicable laws (e.g. GDPR)
- You will not use the SDK in a way that violates data protection regulations
07Fees & Usage
Use of the SDK and Platform may be subject to:
- Subscription fees
- Usage-based pricing (e.g. validations, active licences)
- Additional charges for premium features
Failure to pay fees may result in:
- Suspension or restriction of service
- Revocation of access
08Enforcement & Control
Polaris reserves the right to:
- Enforce licence rules and validation policies
- Monitor for suspicious or non-compliant behaviour
- Suspend or revoke licences or access where necessary
This includes cases of:
- Abuse or misuse
- Fraudulent activity
- Breach of these Terms
09Updates & Versioning
Polaris may:
- Release updates or new versions of the SDK
- Deprecate older versions with reasonable notice
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining compatibility
- Updating integrations where required
10Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the SDK and Platform remain with Polaris.
You retain ownership of:
- Your Products
- Your proprietary code and content
11Termination
These Terms remain in effect until terminated.
Polaris may terminate or suspend access if:
- You breach these Terms
- Fees remain unpaid
- Continued use poses risk to the Platform
Upon termination:
- Your licence to use the SDK ends
- You must cease use and distribution of the SDK
12Disclaimer
The SDK and Platform are provided “as is” and “as available”.
Polaris makes no warranties regarding:
- Performance
- Availability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
13Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Polaris shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Total liability shall not exceed the fees paid in the preceding 12 months
14General
- Polaris may update these Terms from time to time
- Continued use constitutes acceptance of updated Terms
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland
15Key Principle
Use of the SDK enables Polaris to:
- Operate licensing infrastructure
- Process licence and usage data
- Generate insights and enforce platform rules
These capabilities are fundamental to the Platform and form part of the agreement between Polaris and its customers.
